A look back at the American Olympic journey in Atheltica
The Paris 2024 Olympic Games concluded on August 11, and as you know, Athletica had the immense honor of hosting Team USA for their preparation. After four years of work and a significant infrastructure rehabilitation project, the real action began on July 6 with the arrival of the first staff members, followed by the first athletes on July 14 at Athletica. Here’s a look back at the renovations carried out to welcome Team USA.
Athletica provided the American athletes with a true preparatory environment for the Olympic events.
After months of work, Team USA was able to enjoy a fully modernized complex. The accommodation building was completely renovated, doubling its capacity. The athletics track was resurfaced to meet Olympic standards, making it the only track of its kind in Île-de-France, allowing athletes to train on a surface identical to that of the Olympic Games. Additionally, the hammer and shot put areas from the Stade de France were replicated exactly at Athletica to provide similar training conditions. The Luc Abalo complex and the aging track at the Michel-Hidalgo stadium in Saint-Gratien, located near the center, were also refurbished.
