Athletica hosts international women's Kendo competition

This weekend, our international center of sporting excellence is hosting an exceptional event: Women Aki Taika 2. Kendo sports teams will be welcomed from October 04 to 06 and will have the chance to take part in a training course, followed by the tournament which will bring their visit to a close.

But what is Kendo?

This Japanese martial art of swordsmanship combines discipline, precision, respect and tradition, making each duel a true show of skill and self-control.
Kendo literally means “the way of the sword”, and represents a modern version of the sword fencing practiced in the past. It's an art that requires a certain discipline of mind.

A major competition 

The women's kendo competition at Athletica will bring together kendokas of all levels from different regions to compete against each other.
Athletica is making the Luc Abalo sports complex available to host this large-scale event. The course will be held in a dedicated area. The warm-up room, call room and 2 parquet floors will be set up accordingly.
